Some New Pictures

A few changes have happened this week: Kennadi rolled over for the first time on Wednesday. My friend Bailee was here for the day and we were taking pictures of Kennadi and all the sudden she rolled, I didn't catch the action but got before and after shots as she did it. Those are below. She hasn't done it since, it was effortless when she did it so I don't think she really knows how she did it. I am sure she will do it more soon though!
Last night Kennadi slept for 7 hours straight! We went to Seal Beach for the day and spent the day with my dad, Lynda, Braden and Lianne and she slept in the car on the way home and then when we got home I fed her and put her to bed and not a peep for 7 hours, I was amazed. Of course I didn't sleep that whole time; since I haven't slept a full night since the beginning of my pregnancy I think I am conditioned to wake up now, maybe I need to sleep train myself as well as her. So I woke up a couple of times ready to feed her but she slept on so I went back to sleep too. Maybe soon we will both sleep the full time!

We are leaving for New York Thursday and right after that Kennadi and I will be heading up to Mammoth for the Jazz Jubilee, it will be a very long 2 weeks and I am sure we will be exhausted after all that travel but hopefully it will be well worth it.
We went to the pool with Heather and Payton today and Kennadi did awesome! It wasn't like last time when I dipped her toes in and she freaked out, this time she was totally fine once we got in all the way, she didn't play or anything, she just chewed on her hands and looked at the water. Her friend Payton was splashing and having a great time. Next time I think I will bring the blow up pool toy for her so she can sit in it and still be shaded in the water. And I still need to get rid of my awful farmer's tan!
Ready to go to Heather's house and play in the pool! So far the sunglasses don't seem to bother her, I am sure in a couple of weeks she will start to grab at them though
My inventive way of keeping her upright to play when she doesn't want to lay on her back

She is officially grabbing toys and sticking them in her mouth, this is her favorite toy right now, I think because of the crinkly sound the book makes when she grabs it.

Pre rolling over: I was just snapping a bunch of pictures and with no warning over she went! This is right after, I don't think she knew what she had just done or how she got to her back

Few More Pictures

We took a couple of pictures today for her 3 month birthday, there will be more to come

3 Months Old!!

We can't believe how fast time flies! Kennadi is 12 weeks today and we are really excited. She has started to be a lot more fun (not that being up all night and having a fussy needy baby all day wasn't fun). We can play with her now and she is all smiles when we do. She is sleeping about 5 hours at night before a feeding and she goes to bed a lot earlier so I have some quiet alone time after 9:00 which is great. She is also sleeping in her own bed now which makes us all sleep better because Chris's alarm doesn't wake her up at 3:30am and nor do his random sleep noises. It has been a really good transisiton for us. She still takes short little naps during the day but we are working on it so she isn't so tired by the end of the day. Overall life is good for us all, Chris is still working long hours so we are looking forward to a much needed vacation to NY next week.
I put her in front of the mirror and she was smiling and staring at herself. Once she saw her feet she tried to grab at them. These pictures make me realize I need to clean the mirrors, I think the flash makes it worse:)

She stares at her hands all the time, she turns them over and opens and closes them and watches them and then sticks them in her mouth.

Watching mom cook is a tiring job
Chris was feeding her a bottle and he took it out of her mouth and she turned in and started sucking on his arm, it was hilarious. She didn't think so, she got very angry when nothing came out!
All day she chewed on her dress, I couldn't keep it down
She dragged herself over and discovered the carpet, when she felt it she kept trying to get it into her hands.

How her hair looks when I take it out of the hair tie (this is after it was up for only 5 minutes). And yes that is my arm with the funny tan line, it's from our walks, I think I need to roll up my sleeves when we walk.I put her on my bed so I can get ready for the day, she just watches me do my make up and looks at the window
This was the first day she really started trying to grasp at her toys, she tried so hard it was cute

10-11 weeks

Time is flying by, Kennadi will be 3 months old next Tuesday! She is growing fast and doing new things everyday. Yesterday she started doing a loud squealing babble, it was so cute. She has started drooling also so we had to break out the bibs, she may be an early teether! We are getting ready to go to New York in a couple of weeks which should be fun. We also took another trip to Mammoth this weekend so Chris could snowboard before the mountain closed. She did great in the car both ways. Other than that everything is the same!
I put her hair up and she was a sport, she didn't fuss at all
Our big girl, she is not a newborn anymore!

Yummy drool! She loves the camo print, she always stares at Chris's blouse when he comes home from work and follows him accross the room so I put her on her blanket and she couldn't stop staring

Taking over the big chair, she sat like this for a good 20 minutes just looking our the window
So excited

Bed Head

Getting stronger, she is still a little wabbly in it but she sits for longer
She still has yet to figure out how to sooth herself with her thumb or fingers but this day she fell asleep sucking her forefinger

Beach Day- it started out fine but ended with our friend getting stung by a sting ray

We went on a walk on the peer, she watched everything for a long time and finally passed out, she is so alert it's crazy

This is the day she got her shots, she was fussy and tired the rest of the day, it was sad but she was back to normal the next morning

The music in the background is the phone, I was on hold with the doctors office. I kept getting her to smile and then I would pull out the camera and she would stop and stare at it so I finally caught this on video

9 Weeks

I know it's a little late but we have been quite busy this last week. Kennadi and I took a trip to Mammoth for a few days which was fun. We didn't get to do a lot of outdoor stuff because it was pretty cold and rainy most of the time. It snowed the day after we left so I was glad we left when we did. Kennadi did great in the car both ways, the way there was nice because Lynda and my dad were down and Lynda drove my car up so I could sit in the back with Kennadi. The way back was fine, she cried a little bit and we stopped a few times but overall it was fairly easy.
Yesterday we went to the beach with Erica (college friend) and her family, it was a lot of fun and nice to be out in the sun for a while, Kennadi slept most of the time. I was so busy trying to keep her out of the sun that I neglected to keep up on my own sunscreen so I got a little burnt, but at least she stayed out of the sun:)
She has been sleeping for longer stretches lately, the first half of the night has been about 5-6 hours at a time which is wonderful. We just have to work on keeping her asleep for the second half now because she wakes to eat every hour from 4am on. We will get there!
Chris got his leave approved for New York so we will be going afterall. We will be heading over in the beginning of July and are looking forward to it. We definitely need a vacation!! We are both a little nervous about flying with a baby but I am sure it will be fine and we will get through it! I hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying the beginning of summer:)

We were eating dinner and she kept getting excited and kicking and laughing, it was the first time she kicked like that in her bouncy seat, it was hilarious so we took a video.
